Guatemala Asks U.S. Government to Ensure That Deportees Are Free From Covid-19

MEXICO CITY—Guatemala needs U.S. authorities to present medical guarantees that deported migrants are absolutely free from the coronavirus in advance of making it possible for the resumption of deportee flights from the U.S., Guatemalan officers mentioned Saturday.

The impoverished Central American country is willing to choose its nationals but needs to make confident all deportees are balanced so as to prevent the country, which is locked down by a curfew, from turning out to be a major target of the Covid-19 pandemic, the officers mentioned.
